The four-piece Western Sydney outfit debut with 11 tracks of the hardest Hip-Hop that Australia has ever witnessed. Boasting 13 years experience ripping microphones, and some of the most intense scratching to be laid to music, underground favourites such as “Dyna-mics” and the intergalactic anthem “X Austra-aliens” are hardcore Hip-Hop from another dimension

Trojan more than delivers for the DJ/Turntablist fans. With cuts supplied by K-Works, BD’s producer, DJ and MC, his turntable talents stand as an undiscovered goldmine in a country where DJs are fast becoming the kings of music. “You Get Destroyed” is a brutal display of the skills his hands command – the DJ work on Trojan being reminiscent of the roles Jam Master Jay and Grandmaster Flashplayed, as being just as important as the rappers.

“Trojan Horse” by Base Dynamics is here! The four-piece Western Sydney outfit debut with 11 tracks of the hardest Hip-Hop that Australia has ever witnessed. Boasting 13 years experience ripping microphones, and some of the most intense scratching to be laid to music, underground favourites such as “Dyna-mics” and the intergalactic anthem “X Austra-aliens” are hardcore Hip-Hop from another dimension. Trojan Horse is available now through Hardcore Classic distribution, and at all JB_Hi-Fi stores.

If there is one thing Sydney Hip Hop is renowned for, it’s the city’s history of delivering the strongest of hardcore Hip Hop music. But Australia has never heard anything like Base Dynamics. MCs EpicLenzDirectand K-Works set out to create a totally unique Hip Hop experience, and with Trojan they have truly succeeded. While drawing on their vast Hip Hop influences, and their passion for early UK Hip Hop, Trojan is musically in a world of it’s own.

From start to finish, Trojan is a ‘no-filler’ journey through the dark side of Aust Hip-Hop. With no time for ocker gimmicks and clichés, the album is a straight up display of skills to be respected by Hip Hop heads worldwide. Trojan is cutting-edge Aust Hip-Hop, far removed from the watered down sound currently ‘tested’ on the public by major labels – instead Base Dynamics stand as one of the few Hip-Hop groups truly innovating and breaking the mold. Not since Public Enemy has a crew brought the noise so strong.

With the album in stores, Base Dynamics are preparing to take their powerful live show across the Australia. Trojan Horse is available now through Hardcore Classic distribution.

BASE DYNAMICS – TROJAN HORSE

Base Dynamics consisting of MCs Epic, Lenz and Direct with K-Works on production and the scratch and cut deliver their new album Trojan Horse to the Australian Hip Hop scene.
Consisting of eleven track Base Dynamics aim to bring a mix of hardcore lyrics over hardcore beats. In a similar vein to Illergic and at times Cannibal Tribe, Base Dynamics certainly bring a harder flow to their lyrics, slowly becoming a Sydney trademark. At first listen the album can be a little hard to palate however over a few plays the style definitely becomes clearer and the direction that Base are heading in is established.
The flow of the emcees is creative and quite different to most emcees in the Aus scene. Some will be bale to accept this and listen carefully to the various flows that are created over the album, others will simply turn it off. Lyrically Base Dynamics come off well, creative rhyme structures and flows however the topics can become a little repetitive, hard is their style however a change at times would definitely refresh the album at times.
Whilst Trojan Horse does deliver the hardcore sound of the underground that Base Dynamics represent so well, it could very well be this that hurts them the most, especially with K-Works production. Whilst beats such as those on 100 Metre Sprint are dark and delivered well, others such as Underground But Amplified are a little to repetitive and stagnant. However K-Works can definitely work a set of decks, there is no doubt on that. You Get Destroyed is a lethal display of the skills possessed by K-Works when the decks are involved. Precise cuts and brutal scratches, a definite highglight for the right ears.
Overall the album delivers a signature sound that BNase Dynamic have mastered very well. Whether or not it is the sound you are looking for is very dependent on the listener. If you like Illergic then you will probably get into this, although it is a little harder. A very different sound to the direction Australian Hip Hop seems to be taking, however at the same time creating a new sound that could be the basis for future releases. Trojan Horse delivers hard lyrics and flows over hard beats for the whole album, if you fancy the Hardcore Classic undergrounf family sound then grab this release for sure.
