Cautious Kieran is a radical, a malcontent. His art is motivated by a rage at the status quo. By an analysis that sees democracy erode as inequality rises – the future looks bleak. That frog in the pot screaming at the temperature. The other frogs are getting high and masturbating in the water, laughing at the bubbles. Sometimes he joins them, has a party with the tunes. Searching for samples has lead to a vast array of musical influences; from prog rock, to punk, to jazz, to soul. He wears the clothes of a transhistorical human picking and choosing styles at will. And he raps.
As of 2020 Cautious Kieran has joined forces with Blacklist Records, a super sexy crew from Melbourne’s north composed of rappers, beat makers, djs, electronic musics makers, visual artists, filmmakers, and sound engineers. Culminating years of experience, Cautious Kieran has added to the groups DIY ethos by providing mixes for tunes as well as video work.
As of writing Cautious Kieran has released 3 EP’s to an enthusiastic local reception. These are Optimistic Picnic, Pariah State, and Mendacious Minutes. Though his Soundcloud contains countless other remixes and oddities. Keep an eye on Blacklist Records through 2020 and beyond to keep up with his latest work.
