JayCee – from Brisbane, released debut Ep in 2015

JayCee is Brisbane’s newest independent Hip-Hop artist to shoot up and out into the scene. While laying dormant from the public since forming the idea in 2012, he has gone ahead and written, prepared and produced an entire debut album titled, ‘Identity Thieves’ (Released Sept 6 2015).Josh Cranstoun (JayCee), the lyric-smith with quick deliveries and intricate rhymes, works over self-produced laid back beats and crystallising keys. JayCee’s passion is words. These lyrics reveal his life in an organic way, showing how minor moments have played significant roles when embraced. This is a fundamental theme that instinctively directs his goals.
Fronting the release of his debut album is the single ‘The Iconic’ – an anthem Jay penned for himself.
“Undeniably Unique” – Scenestr
“Very Promising” – ToneDeaf
‘The Iconic’ is ultimately truthful but mischievous as Naomi Rigby puts out a saucy duo with JayCee who conveys his bitterness over societal norms and yearning for deviation from such structure.
The debut album, ‘Identity Thieves’ flows with fresh beats, rhythms, instrumentation and lyrics that resonate into a whole consolidated sound. Taking two years to piece this into something to run with, he can now not only say that it is his stamps his own time, but is something for the playful youth and free spirited souls out there to reminisce on good times, much like his.
