“After touring nationally on the back of last year, 2017 could be the year Kirklandd shoots onto everyone’s radar as Australian hip-hop’s next mainstay” – The Interns
Entering the scene with a unique style helmed by producer Cam Bluff (Allday, Illy), Kirklandd has quickly established himself at the forefront of the new wave of Australian hip hop. Following shows opening for Seth Sentry, Dylan Joel and Citizen Kay, Kirklandd has received plays for his recent singles across MTV, Triple J and Fbi radio, proving his entry as an exciting artist to watch in Canberra’s budding music scene.
With the release of his new single, Faded, Kirklandd has offered listeners his explosive neo-trap style, blending trap elements with live instrumentation, offering a sound ‘along the lines of Travis Scott meets Tame Impala’ – Kirklandd.
See Faded live nationally with Kirklandd and his live band on The Faded tour, Presented by Oxfam.

I COULD CARE LESS IF ANYONE THINKS I’M WEAK FOR SHARING ALL SIDES OF MYSELF. HIP HOP TO ME HAS ALWAYS BEEN A BEAUTIFULLY INTRICATE ARTFORM OF STORYTELLING, AND THE MORE AUTHENTIC THE STORYTELLER, THE BETTER THE STORY. MUSIC HAS BECOME A WAY FOR ME TO VOCALISE MY STRUGGLES AND MY TRIUMPHS; IT’S KIND OF A COPING MECHANISM FOR ME, AND I BELIEVE THAT MAKES MY MUSIC MORE REAL. AT THE END OF IT ALL, AS LONG AS YOU’RE DOING WHAT’S REAL TO YOU, THAT’S WHAT MATTERS. I CAN’T POSE WITH GUNS AND GET LIT IN THE HOOD AND ACT LIKE IT’S WHO I AM – I’M A KID WHO’S TRYING UNDERSTAND ALL OF THESE BEAUTIFUL CHALLENGES THE UNIVERSE THROWS MY WAY, AND SHARE MY EXPERIENCES WITH OTHERS THROUGH MUSIC. IT’S ALL ABOUT DOING WHAT’S AUTHENTIC TO YOU AND HELPING PEOPLE IN THE PROCESS.
