Originally picking up a bass to perform in a friend’s band at the age of 11, Gold Coast songwriter “LEMAIRE” quickly gravitated to playing guitar and writing songs of his own. At 12, he entered his first local songwriting competition and became addicted to songwriting. Now 23, LEMAIRE has not stopped, with his most recent piece of work, “Where’s Up (feat. jay orient & JK-47)” achieving great online and local success.
This success has been the bi-product of years and years of street performances, pub gigs, and support shows in Byron Bay, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

At 7, LEMAIRE discovered a highly explicit “Redman” CD, hidden in an old trunk at his family home. He began listening in secret, and before long had developed an obsession with hip-hop and hip-hop artists – Eminem, 50 Cent, and Dr Dre. A concurrent love of singer-songwriters such as John Mayer, Ed Sheeran and Ben Howard would later shape LEMAIRE’s sound into how it exists today. Big catchy choruses, the use of guitars and organic percussion, paired with hip-hop grooves and verses allow for LEMAIRE’s sonic to be one of originality and modernity.
LEMAIRE has so far released 3 singles on Spotify and Apple Music, “Where’s Up?”, “20 Dollar Wine” and “Torrents” – all receiving praise from Australian magazines, newspapers, and his online fanbase. The songs spent time in the top 5 of the Triple J Unearthed charts, where they received praise from various radio presenters.
Recent weeks have seen LEMAIRE constantly in the studio working on vocal features for a number of Australian producers and artists, as well as a number of his own new releases. This year, LEMAIRE is set to solidify his position in the Australian music scene.
