Teddy Lewis King’ or TLK are a three piece Hip Hop act hailing from Lismore in the lands of the Bundjalung Nation, NSW Australia. Formed towards the end of 2013 TLK Teddy Rhodes, Mitch King and DJ Mud have made a name for themselves as a must see live act. 2013-14 has seen them perform at Festivals including Byron Bay Falls Festival, Boomerang Festival and travelling to Nth Queensland Gulf country with Jimblah, North Coast NSW local spots as well playing at SCU Naidoc Day alongside Archie Roach and a 2 day appearance at the Sydney Opera House’s HOMEGROUND Festival in Late November and winning a NCEIA Dolphin Award for Best Urban/Hip Hop/Funk for their track New Mega Powerz. Bringing a style that is influenced by hip hop heroes, electronic enigmas and soul staples TLK embrace the past, present and future of hip hop music with classic soul laced beats and raw electronic sounds combined with an energy that will captivate any listener, the future is looking bright for this group of like-minded artists. Over the past few months the boys have been hard at work in the studio writing material for their Debut EP Canapes & Hip Hop which was released 15th January 2015 Featuring production from Leo Gortz and the groups own DJ Mud. With smashing beats and a combination of intellectually abrasive but fun rhymes Teddy Lewis King are ready to put their stamp on the Hip Hop Scene in Australia.
